As a two-time World medalist and seven-time U.S. World Team member, Green brings a level of international experience that few coaches in the country can match. Throughout his career, he established himself as one of the premier freestyle wrestlers in the United States, earning a bronze medal at the 2015 World Championships and a silver medal at the 2017 World Championships. His consistency at the Senior level was highlighted by seven World Team appearances and numerous victories over World and Olympic medalists.

Green's connection to the SERTC began long before joining the Virginia Tech coaching staff. As a resident athlete, he became one of the foundational pieces of the RTC's rise on the national freestyle scene. His presence in the room elevated the daily training environment while helping establish Blacksburg as a destination for elite freestyle wrestling.

In 2015, Green became the first resident athlete in SERTC history to earn a berth on the U.S. Senior World Team. That same year, he brought home a bronze medal from the World Championships in Las Vegas, marking the first Senior World medal earned by an SERTC athlete. Green continued to raise the standard over the following decade, making seven World Teams, capturing a U.S. Open title, winning a Senior Nationals championship, and earning a silver medal at the 2017 World Championships in Paris.

Beyond his own accomplishments, Green has served as a mentor and role model for countless athletes training in Blacksburg. His willingness to invest in younger wrestlers, combined with his technical expertise and championship mindset, has made a lasting impact on the RTC's culture and development.

Green's influence on both Virginia Tech Wrestling and the SERTC extends far beyond his competitive resume. His experiences competing at the highest levels of international wrestling, coupled with his commitment to athlete development, make him a vital component of the SERTC's continued pursuit of World and Olympic excellence.
