The Southeast Regional Training Center (SERTC) was established in 2017 and is located in Blacksburg Virginia. The SERTC is a tax-exempt, charitable, athletic organization IRS code Sec 501 (c)(3) with the purpose of educating and promoting amateur wrestling within the legal 250 mile radius it serves.
The SERTC promotes the sport of wrestling by serving three age groups: Highschool, collegiate, and senior level.
At the high school level the SERTC sets out to inspire athletes to reach the highest levels of the sport. In addition we provide world class training to a non-traditional wrestling region.
The SERTC also serves college athletes at Virginia Tech granting them the ability to compete and train all over the world. They also benefit from close relations SERTC senior level athletes.
Lastly, the SERTC brings the Olympic Dream to life by providing the means necessary to help senior level athletes thrive to achieve their goals.
The SERTC is supported entirely by the generosity of individuals that take part in annual or monthly donations and that sponsor or attend our fundraising events. It’s function and impact directly depends on those supporting it.
RC 501(c)(3) provides that amateur athletic organizations are exempt only if they "foster national or international sports competition.
SERTC is actually Hokie Mat Club, Inc founded 2006. The name was changed in 2013.
